About Me

My photo
DeLuka
Austin, Texas, United States
As a native of Florida, I gather inspiration from its landscape and history. I incorporate organic materials, found objects and gemstones into my designs with mixed metal. After studying art history in college, I spent a decade working for fine jewelry manufacturers and retailers. There I gleaned an insider perspective in design and fabrication. My work is influenced by the, “Readymades” of Marcel Duchamp, 1920’s era fashion and literature, and mid-century, modernist design. Though the jewelry industry has sent me all over the country from Manhattan to Georgia, from Colorado to Alaska; the coast tends to beckon me back. Each of my pieces is handcrafted and assembled in my studio a stone's throw from the St. Johns River. Though I am currently being seduced by the allure of Austin, Texas!
